Hammond Ashley Violins is pleased to provide the string community with a full-service workshop staffed by professional luthiers, whose experience and knowledge of delicate stringed instruments is matched only by the pride they take in their work. When you bring an instrument or bow to our shop, you can be sure that it is in good hands. If there is some work that you wish to have done, our head luthier will provide you with a detailed estimate after the instrument has been thoroughly examined by him. He will then carefully explain the estimate and the options available to you, so that the appropriate and most cost effective course of action may be taken. Our craftsmen are committed to providing adjustments, setups, restorations and repair work of the highest quality at competitive prices to players of all ability levels.

Repair

Our on site workshops employ highly skilled Luthiers who are dedicated craftsmen specializing in the set up and restoration of violin family instruments. Please make arrangements for a repair evaluation by calling one of our stores and setting up an appointment with the shop manager.

Our set up includes fingerboard shaping and resurfacing. Hand fitting and adjustment of tuning pegs. Hand carving and adjusting of the bridge. Fitting and adjustment of the sound post. High quality strings.

Bow repair

Bow rehairing and repair. Highest quality non-bleached hair is used in Mongolian white, Stallion, Black, and Salt and Pepper Grey
